Privacy Policy — Ratiby

At Ratiby we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we handle in the Ratiby iPhone & iPad app and on ratiby.com, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we handle

1.1 Data you enter in the app

Basic salary, housing allowance, transport, years of service, overtime hours. All of these are processed locally on your device only to perform the calculation. They are never sent to our servers and are not stored outside your device.

1.2 Technical data

Limited technical data may be handled to operate the service:

• OS version and device model (for compatibility)
• Your language and settings preferences (saved on-device only)
• Crash reports via Apple's frameworks to improve stability

1.3 Website data and cookies

ratiby.com uses cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes: usage analytics via Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors browse the site and improve our content, and advertising via Google AdSense (see section 3). Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may also log basic HTTP requests (IP address, browser type) for security and performance purposes under its own policy. You can control or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time.

2. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) on iOS

Per Apple's policy, on first launch the app presents the standard App Tracking Transparency prompt to ask your permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. This permission is used by the embedded ad service (AdMob).

• If you allow tracking: Google AdMob may use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to serve personalised ads.
• If you decline: ads are still shown but they are generic and non-personalised, and IDFA is not accessed.
• You can change this permission any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

3. Advertising via Google AdMob & Google AdSense

Ratiby relies on advertising to keep its tools completely free. The app uses Google AdMob, while the website uses Google AdSense. Ratiby itself does not receive the data these services collect.

3.1 In-app ads (AdMob)

AdMob may collect data such as IP address, device advertising identifier, and app-related information per Google's privacy policy. You can control ad tracking from your iOS settings as described in the App Tracking Transparency section above.

3.2 Website ads (AdSense)

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and/or other sites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

4. Purchases and ratings

The app uses Apple's StoreKit framework to request App Store ratings. No payments are taken; the app is fully free.

5. iOS permissions we use

• Internet: only to load ads and app updates.
• App Tracking Transparency: to request permission for personalised ads (optional).
• We do not request access to Contacts, Photos, Location, Microphone, or Camera.

6. Widgets and App Groups

To support Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the app uses an App Group named group.com.ratiby.app to share local preferences (language, dates) between the main app and the widget. This data remains on your device only.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

8. Your rights

Because the app does not keep your financial or personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to export or delete on your behalf. At any time you can:

• Delete the app, and all local data is automatically removed.
• Revoke the tracking permission from iOS Settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app or the website after publication means you accept the update.
